Lucido Hair Curl Lotion & Hair Spray | Review

I have stubborn straight hair - which can be a blessing or curse when it comes to styling it. I had a bad hair styling experience in high school. The saloon I went to applied the super hard hairspray, which I thought was not a big deal until I was home trying to wash them off. It was a nightmare to clean my hair as it was super hard that my hair was so tangled and experienced hair falls. I never trusted any hairspray since then until I found out about Lucidol. I had tested out their heat protection spray and soft airy hair spray which made me feel relieved to style my hair again.

Lucidol is a Japanese hair beauty brand that offers a wide range of hair products and cosmetics. I was introduced to this brand through recommendations from YouTubers back then, and it was sold at the Watsons in my area. I tested their hair styling lotion and hair styling spray and have been using this brand since then. Still to this day, I was impressed with the quality and effect it provides to the hair.

Hair spray: The orange range may have been discontinued but they still offer the pink & purple version. The hairspray is not sticky or heavy on the hair. It's super light and has an acceptable mild scent. It holds the hair throughout the day with minimal sweat. I think it's great to spray on bangs to hold it in place or curls. Because I have stubborn straight hair, it can be challenging to maintain the curls but this product really holds the hair in place without making the curls look firm/stiff. It creates a natural finish.

How to use: Apply the spray as the last step of styling to set the hair. Spray 10-15cm away from the hair. You can also use a face protection cover before spraying.

Hair curl lotion: The product comes in a white milky liquid. It may not look appealing but as you spray it on the hair, it feels airy without feeling sticky at all. It dries quickly and easily using the heat on the hair. The spray helps maintain the shine of the hair without looking dry and creates soft bouncy curls. If you want to achieve a natural curly hair girly, this is a great heat protection spray to use. There's also a mild green floral scent that smells good on the hair (it's an added bonus so you don't have to spray any hair mist!).

How to use: Divide the hair into a few sections. Spray 5-10cm away from the hair and apply evenly. Curl as your desired method from the ends to create a natural springy curl. To create more volume, you can mix inward and outward curlings.

My final verdict: The price point is affordable for its quality. You can definitely feel the difference in your hair without feeling it being too heavy or drying. Whether you're deciding on a hair spray or protection spray, Lucidol can be your trusted brand when it comes to hair styling. What's your go-to hair styling brand/product?
