Rainforest Fringe Festival 2019

#RFF2019 was my first media event representing the company I was interning with. Despite being lost for half an hour, I managed to run to the event to get a couple of footage. I never thought I would enjoy being a solo journalist/media representative until that day.

Borneo Laboratory
The two exhibits that were located within the small room were 'Book Launch & Exhibition' and 'Museum of Scents.' The book features artworks and displays the outcomes of all innovations.
Borneo Laboratory also dives into Borneo woods and scents to highlight the benefits of health and environmental conservation. The candles made by Ai Ai ILLUM LAB smelt beautiful with the use of natural essential oil. Liberica coffee brewing is also demonstrated live during the session.

'ORIGIN' the Bamboo pavilion
The bamboo installation is constructed as part of the 'Primates' performance ground. The making of the pavilion is a collaboration between architect, Wendy Teo, Primate choreographers as well as local craftsmen and suppliers. The bamboo framework supports the canopy made out of various sizes and heights of palm leaves.

David Koh's Images
I was in awe of the drone shots of nature in Sarawak by Koh. Within the frame, the photos looked 3D as if it's moving as you turn your perspective from different angles.

Museum of Kuching
It was a stroll through the history of Kuching. This exhibition features Kuching's historical maps, paintings, and photographs accompanied by the magic of Augmented Reality. With the collaboration of Brooke Trust, the ancient Kampung Heritage of Kuching has come to life, for the public to experience the old Malay community around Kuching.

Jungles: Rainforests of The World- An Audio Visual Exhibition
This was my first ever sound-integrated rainforest exhibition experience. It felt as if you were walking into a real serene jungle with extensive information on the wall. This was a great set-up to learn about the rainforests.
