The Face Shop Daily Perfumed Hand Cream | Review
Hand cream may not be the most essential item to have in a daily regime, however, as I started my job, I was most concerned about my hands due to the air-conditioning. Hence, I was inspired to create a review of the hand cream I'd used. I was gifted The Face Shop hand cream a while ago (I'm pretty sure they have changed the packaging by now), and I've finished the tube to see how much it does for my hands. Do note that I am not an expert in hand cream formulations, so make your judgement based on your own understanding and other reviews available.
The Face Shop had not been on my radar for Korean beauty products until the set gift I received. Their body wash and lotion were amazing and alongside those was this hand cream. I'll be reviewing The Face Shop Daily Perfumed Hand Cream in 03 Apple Pop.
The hand cream comes in a simple tube with a twist lock cap. It's straightforward and easy to use by just squeezing the tube before the product comes out.
The texture of the hand cream is like your cream moisturiser. It's thick yet slightly watery when applied to the skin.
The scent is strong when first applied, however, once the product sinks into the skin, it leaves just the slightest scent. I prefer scentless hand creams and this is pleasant to use, however, something other than what I will reach out to the most. Apple Pop reminded me of the flavour of a fizzy apple drink.
INGREDIENTS: WATER/EAU, GLYCERIN, DIPROPYLENE GLYCOL, MINERAL OIL/HUILE MINÉRALE, CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE, CETEARYL ALCOHOL, POLYSORBATE 60, STEARIC ACID, PETROLATUM, SORBITAN STEARATE, ROSA DAMASCENA EXTRACT, OLEA EUROPAEA (OLIVE) FRUIT OIL, DIMETHICONE, GLYCERYL STEARATE, PEG-100 STEARATE, BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII (SHEA) BUTTER, ACRYLATES/C10-30 ALKYL ACRYLATE CROSSPOLYMER, SODIUM HYALURONATE, ILLICIUM VERUM (ANISE) FRUIT EXTRACT, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, CAPRYLYL GLYCOL, 1,2-HEXANEDIOL, PHENOXYETHANOL, PROPANEDIOL, POTASSIUM HYDROXIDE, DISODIUM EDTA, PARFUM/FRAGRANCE
In terms of the ingredients, I'm not the most impressed as it contains Alcohol, Mineral Oil, Stearic Acid, and Fragrance which can be drying and cause sensitivity to the skin. However, throughout my usage, I do not experience any rashes or redness after use. Nonetheless, do take note if you're sensitive to these ingredients.
The consistency of the hand cream is buildable. If you apply just a pea-sized amount, it may not be the most moisturising or glowing on the skin. If you apply more, it may leave a slight glossiness on the skin, but it can take a longer time for the product to sink into the skin. In my case, if I apply a thicker amount of hand cream, it takes at least 5-8 minutes to feel less sticky. If I apply a thin amount, it does not feel like I'm applying anything.
In terms of pricing, this is one of the most affordable Korean hand creams you can find at the counter or online. I do have to say the quality comes with its price. If you're looking for a cheaper alternative, this may be for you. However, if you're targeting high moisture or specific skin concerns, this may not be the best as this is a simple and basic daily hand cream.
You can find this on the official The Face Shop website to purchase one.
