Nudestix Gel Color Lip + Cheek Balm | Review

As someone like me who experiences acne, natural is not the first instinct when it comes to makeup. However, we can shift people's focus to our lips instead of our skin. A good lips colour will do just that. The natural lippies that have been my everyday favourites are the Nudestix Gel Colour Lip and Cheek Balm. I adore the story behind the Nudestix brand, as they believe in natural-born beauty, which is unbelievably empowering for everyone who wears their products. Multipurpose is the word to describe all the products available. Alongside, the products are cruelty-free, paraben-free and gluten-free. 

One word to describe this product: is buttery. Yes, it's as soft as butter. It glides on so beautifully, even on the cracks of the lips. It's super moisturising and dries off as a cream lip colour. The colour that I chose was named Pulse, which is a natural rosy pink colour that suits my slightly darker lips. It doesn't cover the colour of my lips. Instead, it provides a clear film of colour that enhances my lip colour. There isn't any apparent scent as it's fragrance-free. 

The product comes in pencil form- I prefer to call it a crayon as it resembles the most like it. It comes with a tight cap, which is very important to avoid it transferring onto other things in a bag. The ones I photographed are the mini version, but normal-size ones are 2 times bigger. Along with the product comes a tin+mirror and sharpener. The pencil is super straightforward and simple to use. 

Ingredients: BIS-BEHENYL/ISOSTEARYL/PHYTOSTERYL DIMER DILINOLEYL DIMER DILINOLEATE, ISOCETYL STEARATE, DIISOSTEARYL MALATE, POLYBUTENE, SYNTHETIC WAX, SILICA, MICA, SYNTHETIC BEESWAX, GLYCERYL CAPRYLATE, PENTAERYTHRITYL TETRA-DI-T-BUTYL HYDROXYHYDROCINNAMATE, TOCOPHEROL [+/- TITANIUM DIOXIDE (CI 77891), IRON OXIDES (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), BISMUTH OXYCHLORIDE (CI 77163), BLUE 1 LAKE (CI 42090), RED 6 (CI 15850), RED 7 LAKE (CI 15850), RED 28 LAKE (CI 45410), RED 30 (CI 73360), YELLOW 5 LAKE (CI 19140), YELLOW 6 LAKE (CI 15985), MANGANESE VIOLET (CI 77742)]

The consistency is creamy and glossy. It feels velvety but not sticky at all when I first apply it. As time passes, it dries off to a light creamy tint- if that makes sense. The colour stays on the lips very well despite it being cream. Mine lasted half a day without consuming anything oily. It's super lightweight on the lips. 

As mentioned before, this is a multipurpose pencil which I really love, as this can also be applied to the cheeks. Although I have not personally tried it on the cheeks, based on the picture above, I can see that it is a beautiful colour to enhance the health of the skin. If you wish to achieve a monochrome makeup moment, a cream balm like Nudestix is a great option for beginners. 

A normal-sized pencil costs around MYR90+. The mid-range price point may be unimpressive, but considering it is a multipurpose product with no harmful ingredients, this is worth it. Nudestix is a brand to consider if you wish to invest in better quality and functional products.
