Missha Vita C Spot Correcting & Firming Ampoule | Review
Is your skin feeling dull these days? Personally, I felt my skin was not in its best state due to the long hours of wearing a face mask. I believe radiance comes from within. However, topical supplements aid helps speeding up the regeneration process for healthier and radiant skin. Let me introduce to you the one and only- Missha Vita C Spot Correcting & Firming Ampoule. I started using the ampoule last year in 2020, and I've seen visible results. Continue to read as I unveil the true beauty of the Missha Vita C Spot Correcting & Firming Ampoule. (SIDE NOTE: This is the old version of the Vita C as they've recently upgraded into a new version which I'll share once I've tried them.)
Topical Vitamin C can be tricky to package and store as it oxidises when in contact with sunlight or air. Vitamin C that turns brown loses its potency (or effectivity). I'm glad that Missha Vit. C ampoule is packed in a tinted glass bottle to prevent much light from entering the bottle. The tight rubber cap helps avoid much air entering the product. It also comes with a glass droplet for easy and hygienic application. The bottle definitely feels luxurious, hence, A+ for the packaging. In terms of storage, I do not recommend storing these in the fridge as it might change the state of the product. I suggest storing it in a cool dry place, without exposing too much sunlight.
I've gone through 3 bottles of the Vit C ampoule and this is one of the best Vit C concentrates that I've tried. The Missha Vita C is not purely Vitamin C but also packed with other luxurious ingredients such as collagen, ceramics and peptides. The scent smells like freshly squeezed orange juice in a bottle. I love the orange scent and this was definitely a treat to my skin. The colour is medium orange with speckles of clear strands. The consistency is slightly thick, yet spreadable. It easily absorbs into the skin with a few gentle dabs.

From the 6 ingredients highlighted in yellow, we can see Missha incorporates a few different types of antioxidants into the ampoule. The 4 highlighted in blue (peptides) are cell-communicating ingredients which signal the skin cells to behave. You can unravel each of the ingredients above through this link to better understand the properties and how they serve to improve the skin.
How effective is the ampoule?
I can see results in 4-6 months of continuous use (this can vary with skin types & lifestyle). I believe a good product takes time to see its effectiveness. Hence, I don't expect a good product to show visible results in just days. I can see the redness of my pitted scar from acne slowly fading.
The texture of my skin also improved (I first saw this result before the scar faded). The pigmentation from exposure to sunlight also faded. My skin was brightened and appeared glowy after every beauty sleep. As a person who suffers from acne, this ampoule is a game changer for me and my skin. My skin loves it and reacts well to it. There's no burning sensation at all. Instead, it felt hydrating and smooth.
I've tried other Vitamin C in the past and it irritates my skin instead of healing it. If you're experiencing acne and still considering which vitamin C to use, I highly recommend the Missha ones. Sometimes, after popping my acne, the next day I would apply this over and it fastens the recovery process, although it does sting for a while.
When I would use the ampoule?
I use Vitamin C only at night as my skin is not exposed to any lights or rays when we sleep. My skin repairs at night help to recover the skin texture more rapidly. Some suggest using it in the morning with sunscreen, but as a person with sensitive and acne-prone skin, I prefer using it during the nighttime for healing and repair.
How many drops do I use?
I would use 1 full drop for my entire face. I would spread them evenly on my face, focusing on the pigmented or pitted skin area.
Cost?
The price range is between RM65-RM100+, depending on the site you purchase. I recommend purchasing from Shopee as some stores within Shopee provide the lowest price point.
I highly recommend the Missha Vita C Spot Correcting & Firming Ampoule if you're looking for an effective Vita C to improve your post-acne skin or overall texture. This ampoule will be in my skincare routine for a long time until I find another game-changing Vitamin C ampoule or serum.
Let me know what you think or if you have any other Vitamin C ampoule suggestions! Till then, take care and stay safe x

I would not like to sound high when discussing this, but I wanted to share what I know about Vitamin C. I think there is more backed up evidence in Vitamin C being used in the morning. From what I've heard, Vitamin C is best used at night because of its antioxidant properties; the effects of Vitamin C spring into action the moment it is in contact with the skin so I would not worry about it "losing efficacy" under broad daylight. The reason why Vitamin C works in daytime is because of protects us from free radicals induced by UV rays that would do harm for our skin. Brightening and cell-boosting properties also happen with using Vitamin C, but not as proven as its antioxidant claims. Putting it at night is also nice, but it lose its purpose as an effective antioxidant because there are no free radicals to scavenge at night. :)
ReplyDeleteOops, typo here hehe. "From what I've heard, Vitamin C is best used at *daytime*"
DeleteHi Paolo. Thank you for sharing! It's great to learn from what you understand. There's no doubt that Vitamin C works effectively during the day time, with the application of sunscreen (so important heheh!). As a person with hyperpigmentation and acne, my skin is on the sensitive side and based on my personal experience, I see results from using Vitamin C in my night routine without aggravating my acne. Of course, it all depends on the types of Vitamin C used and other ingredients involved! I understand that some swear by using it during the daytime and I'm not opposed to that as long as their skin is happy & healthy! It's always best to listen to our own skin! ;)
DeleteOh thank you for your reply! I really REALLY hoped that my last response didn't come off pushy for you. I forgot to consider your sensitivities so I apologize for this, but I definitely share this belief that everyone should use their own products whatever works best! Thank you for this conversation. And I hope you have great skin days. ❤️
