Innisfree Nail Strengthener | Review

Frustrated with cracked nails? If you're unaware, our nails are made out of a protein called keratin that provides strength. If your nails easily crack or brittle, you will know that you lacked protein. As soon as I found out that my nails are unhealthy, I knew that I should consume more eggs and calcium tablets to build back the hardness and structure of my nails. Another extra tip is to use a nail strengthened before applying any nail polish to protect the nails from scratches or cracks. The Innisfree Nail Strengthener helps just that and let's check out if it's all worth it.

On the official site, Innisfree claims the nail strengthener to be:
"1. A powerful shield for protecting weakened fingernails
The calcium of the nail strengthener builds a powerful shield on your fingernails to prevent them from splitting and breaking.

2. Jeju tangerine oil for nourishment
The Jeju green tea and tangerine oil nourish your fingernails to make them healthier.

3. Basecoat function
The nail strengthener is a multi-use product used before or instead of a basecoat, to stop your nails from being tinted and damaged."

After 2 months of application, I can say that it helps with preventing splitting soft nails. If you're constantly in contact with water or using your fingernails more often, the nail strengthener protects the nails from scratches. I do like that the nail strengthener acts as a basecoat, which definitely helps to make my nail polish last longer. It also helps to remove any nail polish colour easily without staining the actual nails.

However, I do not see any result of the product making my nails healthier as it can dry the nails if used often.

Solid packaging with a tinted glass bottle. The product comes in a milky colour but turns clear when applied. The brush is soft and easy to apply to the nails. My nails look glossy and healthy after application.

The only downside is the scent of the product as it can be strong (smells like alcohol polish) and overpowering. If you're sensitive to scents, you may want to reconsider using the nail strengthener.
