Beauty Of Joseon Ginseng Essence Water | Review
Ginseng is a plant with fleshy roots used in Chinese or Korean cuisines and medicines. The most common benefits of ginseng include boosting energy, promoting overall well-being and reducing stress. As a full-time corporate desk employee, a healthy dose of ginseng boosts energy to get through the day. Ginseng tastes bitter and may not gain favour among the crowds. Let me show you a demure way of introducing ginseng to your palette- the non-edible Beauty of Joseon ginseng essence water for your skin.
Beauty of Joseon has risen to popularity among a lot of K-beauty users outside of Korea. As a much-loved brand across the globe, I decided to try out their travel-size essence and put it to the test on my acne-prone skin.
The essence is made out of 80% ginseng root water + ginseng complex and 2% niacinamide. The colour of the essence doesn't affect application as it dissolves as a regular liquid with no staining effect. The essence comes in a light, watery texture, allowing easy application and absorption. The essence is known to moisturise, even skin tone, and improve the skin complexion.
Ingredients: Panax Ginseng Root Water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Propanediol, Niacinamide, 1,2-Hexanediol, Water, Hydroxyacetophenone, Glyceryl Glucoside, Xanthan Gum, Panthenol, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Allantoin, Adenosine, Panax Ginseng Callus Culture Extract, Theobroma Cacao(Cocoa) Extract, Dextrin, Glucose, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Panax Ginseng Berry Extract, Lactobacillus/Panax Ginseng Root Ferment Filtrate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Ethylhexyglycerin, Disodium EDTA
Here's my final verdict after using it for at least 3-4 months. The texture is almost similar to toner, which you can replace as a toner when you run out. The lightweight texture refreshes the skin well without causing any irritation. Aside from moisturising the skin, I couldn't really tell a difference in terms of evening out the skin tone. I think due to its lightweight consistency, it doesn't do as much as an actual thick essence. If your skin is dehydrated, perhaps this can be a great addition to boost the hydration on your face.
With all that said, the price point for an essence is affordable. If you intend to get a healing essence to improve your skin texture, this may not be the best option. However, if you're looking for a better version of toner, this can be a good upgrade. Do let me know what's your favourite essence you've tried! Speak soon x
