COSRX AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner | Review

Are acids truly harsh on the skin? They're not when you use them in moderation with suitable percentages! AHA & BHA are both strong acids that fight acne. When they're combined, there's power in clearing the skin. AHA (Alpha Hydroxyl Acid) helps to exfoliate the skin surface, whereas BHA (Beta Hydroxyl Acid) helps exfoliate deep beneath the skin (read more about BHA). Although I do not find this combination suitable for my sensitive face, the COSRX AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Tonerise is super helpful with my blackheads. 

Let's talk about the packaging. The spray nozzle is a smart feature as it's convenient to access, without contaminating the rest of the product. The toner consistency is watery and smells like acid. Nothing too pungent that you cannot handle. 

COSRX claims, "the formulation of AHA+BHA+Purifying Botanical ingredients help to improve skin texture, increase vitality, and control pores. Eliminate impurities, exfoliate, and hydrate all in one step."

After using this continuously for months, I can tell that my nose pore size has improved, and my nose texture is softer and brighter. The toner helps me ease the process of removing my blackheads. 

Ingredients: Water, Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Water, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Water, Butylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Sodium Lactate, Glycolic Acid, Betaine Salicylate, Allantoin, Panthenol, Ethyl Hexanediol

Active ingredients:

Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Water & Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Water- gently exfoliate and help reduce marks from breakouts and spots

Glycolic Acid (AHA)- exfoliates skin surfaces and softens skin

Betaine Salicylate (BHA)- clears pore congestion and balances oil production

How I Apply (once every few days):

1. Spray the toner on a cotton pad.

2. Cleanse my nose.

3. Apply the pad onto my nose for 5-10 minutes.

4. Cleanse with water. Proceed with your skincare.
